I have a scanner attached to an Adaptec card. Only use scanner on average
twice a month for about 15 minutes, off and disconnedted from the card the
rest of the time.  Most of the time after connecting the scanner back to the
card and powering it up  I have to reboot for the card to be recognised
again. I've searched the repositories with every term I can think of. Tools
for working with the bus - yes. Working with the card - no. All I really
want to do is be able to restart the card similar to start/stop the NIC.
Command line, something.

Any thoughts?
