It seems lately there scared of this recession thing

they got rid of 1500 jobs and 3000 more to come.
they shutdown there zune platform (like we needed another ipod clone) cause
of 100+ million loss. ( im sure alot more in RnD)
oddly they got rid of ms flight simulator X  team. ( from what i gathered
this was actualy something usefull )
the ready for vista suit could cost billions.
X-box division is costing billions to forcefully enter the consol market.
vista costing billions for 5 years of nothing (Rnd was spending this money
how .... this is expensive and forced them to retool a service pack ...
windows 7 which could up being the same thing)
office 2007 forced many gui changes that  people actually refused to want to
relearn
ms biggest competiter is themselvs (older versions of there software)

maybe this is so they can give away more windows xp copies on netbooks to
hinder linux adoption (surprising there discounting sprees have not raised
another anti-trust hearing)

In times when people have to start thinking about costs and long-term cost
will linux growth start tripeling (moores law applied to software ?) and
will this be taking ms main line of income.
linux seems to taking the whole eco system of everything except the pc at
the moment by storm from consumer level devices to cell phones ( it would be
nice if all these devices had to have some type of advertising attached to
it like "linux inside" so people start associating linux with different
things. websites that run on linux should do the same. the things linux is
on and not anyone knows should be clearly marked. ( hey even
google.comshoud have "RUNS ON LINUX" posted somewhere on there clean
main page) I
bring these up cause most people have some type of linux device and will
never know ...

Ive noticed alot of trends of people mentioning a swith over to linux and MS
offering big discounts. ( yes they have tons of money but it cant do this
forever)
