[QCLUG] Newbie having installation errors

What's the make/model of the computer? Perhaps it's a known issue, I could
do a little googling.
Unfortunately Geek Squad has proven themselves to be ignorant in many
things. The most recent story I heard ( about a month ago ) involved a
friend bringing in his laptop for repair due to random lock-ups, memtest
also reported thousands of errors. Their immediate diagnosis was that Linux
was the culprit.
