i can help you if you like for these type of problems i would only like to
do it in person. it might have something todo with bios setting for the sat=
a
driver to some kind of bug in chipset (rare) i have ubuntu running perfect
on a 1720 and had it running smooth for a long while

and its very possible to dual boot with both OS's.

sounds like a partitioning error

when installing vista tell it to use only some of the drive then use the
rest for linux manully setting up the partition's as / and double for swap =
(
might have to leave a lil space free at the end )
