I'm not sure if all of you know about "partimage" or not. It can be
installed via "synaptic" from Ubuntu/Kubuntu. I have been wanting to
make an image of my "/" and after some searching came up with
"partimage". To make an image of the "/" I had to run "partimage" from
the Ubuntu live CD. It took a little time to figure out why I kept
getting errors but I found http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/partimage
and PartImage home page at
http://www.partimage.org/Partimage-manual_Usage and these made it very
simple. The only thing that was causing me problems is that when you
enter the destination path you must add a file name to the end of it. I
just thought some of you may want to hear about it.
Since I haven't had to restore the "/" yet I don't know if this part of
it works or not but the saving routine goes very fast and seems to do a
good job.
Have A Great Day
