I'd like to know how to find info on some web sites i use. I know there are
console commands to do this kind of thing but don't know what category to
look in. Same for the repositories (tool and apps kind of thing).

Immediate reason for doing this is that I have to break down and consider
getting on the WOW forums. Blizzard claims their official sites are safe.
Uh-huh. Login is by my game account name and password. A lot of accounts get
hacked, I don't want to be one of them. So, I want to know just how "safe"
they are.
